Walk And Talk.

Welcome Committee Walk for CDNIS Parents

Whether you are new to CDNIS or a long-time parent, you’re invited to come join us on Wednesday,  1 September, for a walk around the Peak. It’s a great way to meet new people in the CDNIS community.

We’ll gather outside the Peak Tram station (up on the Peak) between 9 and 9:15 a.m. The walk itself takes about one hour, and we’ll end up back at the starting point. It is completely stroller-friendly for those of you with young children.

There is a Pacific Coffee shop near the Tram station where we’ll stop for refreshments. If you want to join us for coffee only, look for us around 10:30. In case of rain, we'll just meet at the Pacific Coffee for a social hour.

For more details, contact Nancy Harbin at nancy.harbin@cispa.hk or 6299 1264.

1st WOW Literacy Meeting.

Tuesday, 7 September, 8:30-9:30 am.

Do you love sharing great books?  Join like-minded parents on the World of Words literacy committee.

We run book swaps and the Family Fun Fair Recycled Reading Stall, volunteer in the library, organize the Spring Into Reading literacy programme, assist the Upper School with writing workshops and much, much more!

RSVP to Committee Chair Tammi Williams at 6391-4257 or tammi.williams@cispa.hk.

Paging All Book Lovers!

THE CISPA Parent Book Group starts up again on Thursday, 9 September, 10 am to noon.

We'll be discussing "Still Alice" by Lisa Genova.  Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month (next meeting 14 October,  "One Thousand White Women"  by Jim Fergus); locations vary.

Contact Tina Fretwell at  fretwells1@hotmail.com or 9104 9406.

Join The Team, Play It Green.

The 2010/11 academic school year has been designated as the year of the environment at CDNIS, supporting the UN's designation of 2010 as the Year of Biodiversity.

We will tackle issues such as energy usage-lights, air conditioning; water reduction, paper usage, campus plastic reduction and recycling, campus greening, traffic policies and cafeteria operations.

Many guest speakers, fun dress down day themes, and out-of-school activities are also in the work. Find out how you can help Play It Green here.
